Tuesday, April 7, 2026Wednesday, April 8, 2026
10:00 PM

As part of this year's Concord Reads programming, Josh Megyesy, a biologist for NH Fish and Game's Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program, will discuss his work with at-risk turtles in NH. A video recording will be available at a later date. Join Josh Megyesy, wildlife biologist with NH Fish & Game's Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program, for a discussion about the state's role in threatened and endangered wildlife conservation and what a wildlife biologist actually does. Josh's talk will focus on the work he does for at-risk turtle populations in NH, including Blanding's, wood, spotted, and eastern box turtles. His focus will be on turtle monitoring protocols, regional planning, funding, and how is ties into the state's Wildlife Action Plan (WAP). Josh will also discuss the threats to turtles, the work being done to address those threats, and how the public and private landowners can play a critical role in that process. There will also be plenty of fun turtle biology and ecology facts with plenty of time for questions and discussion.
