Chess Simul

Think you're good enough to play chess against an International Master (IM)? Now's your chance to give it a try! Join us for an exciting afternoon as IM Jim Rizzitano plays against up to 30 other chess players. Co-sponsored with the Nashua Chess Club. To participate in the simul: Registration is required. Participation is for ages 16 through adult. Check in begins at 12:15. Arrive by 12:45 am or your seat may be forfeited. IM Rizzitano must be able to recognize the chess pieces at a glance, so players should bring their own traditional boards and pieces to play. If you do not own a board, you can borrow one from the library. IM Rizzitano will start each game, then move to the next player. You make your move only when IM Rizzitano is in front of you. After your move, he will make his move and go to the next player. You have until your next turn to think about what your move will be. When it's your turn, make your move immediately. If you are not ready to make your move, you can have up to two passes. Bystanders are welcome to watch. Please note: While everyone is welcome to this public event, this is a quiet, adult activity, that requires focus and concentration. If younger children need space to move, please visit the Children's Area on the main floor.
