Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

LocalNH (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website at localnh.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. By using LocalNH you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you submit an event, suggest a business, subscribe to the newsletter, or send us a message through the contact form, we collect whatever you provide — typically your name, email address, and the content of the submission. Event and business submissions are moderated before publication.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, LocalNH automatically receives standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This information is collected through server-side logs and our analytics provider.

Information from third parties (events & business listings)

LocalNH aggregates public event and business information from third-party sources to build its discovery database. Sources include Ticketmaster's public event feeds, Eventbrite public events, town-hall and venue iCal calendars that are published to the web, Google Business public listings, and community-submitted entries. We do not receive personal information about event attendees, ticket buyers, or business customers from these sources — only publicly-published event and business metadata (names, dates, addresses, descriptions, photos, URLs).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the LocalNH website and features
  • To moderate and publish user-submitted events and business suggestions
  • To respond to messages you send us through the contact form
  • To send the weekly newsletter if you subscribe (you can unsubscribe from any email)
  • To analyze aggregate traffic patterns and understand what's useful
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, spam, or security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Services We Use

Supabase

We use Supabase (a managed PostgreSQL provider) to store our event, business, town, and submission data. Supabase processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Learn more at supabase.com/privacy.

Vercel

LocalNH is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard server-log data (including IP addresses) to deliver the site. Vercel's privacy policy is at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand traffic patterns. GA4 collects anonymized usage data such as page views, session duration, and traffic source. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Event & business data providers

LocalNH pulls publicly-listed events from Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and a variety of town-hall / venue iCal feeds that are published to the open web. We pull business listings from Google Business and community submissions. We do not access private accounts or paid APIs that contain personal information.

Email delivery

Newsletter and transactional emails are sent via Resend. Resend processes email content on our behalf. Read their policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

4. Cookies

LocalNH uses a small number of cookies:

  • Essential: session tokens and CSRF protection for submissions and admin login.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to measure aggregate traffic.
  • Preference: remembering UI choices such as selected region or filters.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break the submission and admin flows.

5. How We Share Information

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:

  • Service providers: the processors listed above (Supabase, Vercel, Google Analytics, Resend) under contract.
  • Published content: events and business listings you submit are displayed publicly on LocalNH.
  • Legal obligation: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LocalNH, users, or the public.
  • Business transfer: if LocalNH is ever sold or merged, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data Retention

  • Published events and businesses: retained indefinitely as part of the public discovery database, subject to moderation and updates.
  • Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form messages: retained up to 24 months for support and dispute resolution.
  • Server logs: retained up to 90 days.
  • Analytics data: aggregated analytics retained up to 26 months.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of analytics and marketing
  • Withdraw consent previously given

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@localnh.com. We respond within 30 days.

GDPR (EEA / UK)

If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process your data under the following legal bases: consent (for analytics and marketing), contract performance (to deliver the service), legitimate interests (to operate and improve the site), and legal obligation.

CCPA (California)

California residents can request disclosure of the categories of personal information we've collected, request deletion, and opt out of any activity that qualifies as a “sale” under CCPA. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense.

8. Children

LocalNH is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS/SSL and stored with managed infrastructure providers that follow industry security practices. No system is 100% secure; we'll notify affected users and regulators of any breach as required by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page when the policy changes and revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes we'll also notify newsletter subscribers.

11. Contact
