Documentary & Discussion: Gather
Join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee on Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 pm for a screening of Gather, which documents the growing movement among Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty. There will be two showings of this film. Register for the Sunday, October 18 at 1 pm screening HERE. Free and open to all. Registration is recommended but not required. 2020 - 1 hr 14 mins - NR About the Documentary: Gather is an intimate portrait tracing the intentional destruction of Native American foodways and our renaissance and resilience, our inherit right, to reclaim it. Through Gather, film partner and co-producer First Nations Development Institute aims to further build international awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the Native American food movement, which will ultimately bolster the support in improving policy and the regulatory environment for long-term sustainability.
