Drawing the Revolution: Teen Zine Workshop

Join cartoonist, Marek Bennett, to learn local history and capture untold stories in comics! Registration required, seats limited. This program is for ages 13-19. Please register below. In this two hour workshop, teens will utilize source materials and research to create zines celebrating local voices of the Upper Valley during the American Revolution. All materials will be provided, no drawing experience necessary. Teens and their guardians are encouraged to attend Marek's talk on June 2nd, where he'll highlight some of the comics produced in this workshop. Check out the event listing here! Marek Bennett is a NH-based cartoonist, musician, and educator who leads discovery-based comics workshops for all ages throughout New England and the world beyond! His comics work includes the graphic novel series, The Civil War Diary of Freeman Colby, as well as drawing, translating, & editing for The Most Costly Journey (2021) with the bilingual El Viaje Project. In September 2022, both books were featured at the National Book Festival in Washington DC. This event is co-sponsored by the Hanover Historical Society.
