Celebrate Flag Day with a creative community art project! Flag Day is celebrated annually in the United States on June 14 to commemorate the1777 adoption of the American flag by the Second Continental Congress. It honors the history and symbolism of the "Stars and Stripes". Join us on Saturday, June 13 from 10-11 am in the Collis Family Gallery to design and make your own unique flag using a variety of colorful materials and supplies. Whether you create a traditional flag, a personal symbol of what freedom means to you, or something completely imaginative, this hands-on program is a fun way to express yourself and honor the spirit of the day. We then ask that you leave your flag with us so that we can put it on display in the library. All ages are welcome—come get creative with us! Drop-in. No registration required. Sponsored by the Barrington 250 Committee.
