The Manchester City Library and 21st Century invites families to an out of this world experience! On Thursday, June 4th, join us at Parkside Middle School for an interactive presentation on Comets with the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center. The Comet Show is an interactive program which discusses comets - how they form, what they're made of, where to find them, etc. It includes an extended demonstration using household ingredients to stand in for comet components and dry ice to create both a comet analogue and a comet nucleus. This program is targeted towards younger audiences and their families. The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) science museum located in Concord, New Hampshire. The museum is dedicated to Christa McAuliffe and Alan Shepard. The Discovery Center's mission is to inspire every generation to reach for the stars, through engaging, artful and entertaining activities that explore astronomy, aviation, earth and space science.
