Marine Weaving Demonstration & Hands-On Workshop with Artist Elaine Alder
Join us on Tuesday, November 24 at 6:30 pm for a marine weaving demonstration and talk with local artist, Elaine Alder. After the demonstration, participants will be able to try their hand at weaving using the same kinds of materials Elaine uses in their art. This program is supported by a grant from Science Across America. Attendees will receive a free Science Across America tote bag (while supplies last). Free and open to all ages. Registration required. About Elaine Alder Elaine creates functional art that blurs the boundary between craft and fine arts, nature and artifice. In September 2024 they completed “The Water We’re Swimming In,” a marine debris sculpture of North Atlantic right whales installed in downtown New Bedford, MA.
