Monday, June 1, 2026
3:00 PM — 4:00 PM
Otaku Underground is a book group for passionate manga readers in grades 9-12 who are ready to go beyond the basics and explore deeper, more advanced titles. This group dives into lesser-known and critically acclaimed manga, analyzing complex themes, unique art styles, and storytelling techniques that push the boundaries of the genre. From underground hits to hidden gems, we’ll discuss what makes these stories stand out and how they reflect broader aspects of anime culture and Japanese society. Otaku Underground is perfect for readers who want to challenge themselves and connect with others who share a deep love for manga. Copies of each chosen book will be available in the teen area.
