Sherlock Holmes Club of the Upper Valley: A Scandal in Bohemia

This story, and especially Irene Adler and the fact that Sherlock was outwitted, has become an iconic story within the canon of Sherlock Holme” and the inspiration for many stories (and movies) by others. We will explore in more detail why this is such an important story (via in great part input from the audience). We also will look at the breadth of knock-off representations that it has generated and what that tells us about the enduring importance of Sherlock. (Disclosure: the host is likely to inject pictures of birds into the presentation).
