The 1st NH Regiment during the American Revolutionary War

Join us to recognize a piece of New Hampshire’s contribution to the birth of our country 250 years ago, as we examine the 1st NH Regiment during the American Revolutionary War. Prof. Dennis Doyle of Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL will be presenting his talk on the 1st NH Regiment and how his ancestor, Sgt. Ebenezer Matthews, served as part of the regiment for seven years of the war. Immediately following that, we will head outside to the library’s Amherst St. lawn to watch the recreated 1st NH Regiment demonstrate what the unit would have looked like, as a spirited re-enactment group marches on the lawn.
