Why Do We Women Hunt?
Wednesday, October 28, 2026
4:00 PM — 5:30 PM
Coming from Norwich, Enfield and Cornish, four women hunters will discuss the several reasons that they hunt deer each fall. The event will also have Madeline Zukowski (from NH) and Nicole Meier (from VT) who will describe the special training programs intended for women hunters. For the past 20 years, nation-wide the number of hunters has declined, but the number of women hunters has increased. However, in most states, deer numbers are out-pacing their reduction by hunters. This event might help us understand what is going on with women’s important role in the hunting world. Attendees will get to sample some of the food made with venison, such as sausage and stews.
