🦅 VINS: Birds are Dinosaurs! What if dinosaurs never truly went extinct? Find out what 65 million years of evolution turned the planet's fiercest predators into—modern birds! To celebrate our "Unearth a Story" summer reading theme, we are thrilled to welcome the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) to the library for an incredible, live wildlife encounter. You will get an up-close look at real birds of prey while exploring the fascinating evolutionary line that connects them directly to their dinosaur ancestors. 🦖 What You'll Discover: Live Avian Ambassadors: Meet magnificent live raptors and see the features they still share with prehistoric predators. Masters of the Air: Explore how modern birds adapted over an immense timescale to conquer the skies. Living History: Learn the science behind paleontology and avian evolution in a fun, interactive environment.
