New Hampshire Geology with McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center
The Manchester City Library invites you to an informative presentation on New Hampshire Geology. Join us as we welcome the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center on Wednesday, July 8th at 6pm in the Auditorium. This program discusses basic topics in geology with a focus on the geology of New Hampshire. We will begin with a discussion of what geology is and how to look at rocks and minerals like a scientist would. We then move on to talking about how to identify the most common rocks in NH, and the geologic history of our state stretching back 623 million years! This program also includes interactive sections and encourages audience participation. The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) science museum located in Concord, New Hampshire. The museum is dedicated to Christa McAuliffe and Alan Shepard. The Discovery Center's mission is to inspire every generation to reach for the stars, through engaging, artful and entertaining activities that explore astronomy, aviation, earth and space science.
