Sherlock Holmes Club of the Upper Valley: The Mystery of the Enduring Life of Sherlock Holmes
Thursday, September 10, 2026
5:00 PM — 6:00 PM
One of the biggest mysteries in detective literature is the enduring interest in the Sherlock Holmes stories. How is it possible that a Victorian era detective transcends time, history, and technology to continue to fascinate the public? How is it that these stories can somehow be updated in modern eras and continue to be fresh and attractive? How is it that these stories transcend media and are adapted to stories in updated settings and in multiple venues (written word, films, stage and radio plays, etc.)? This talk will be presented by Paul Etkind, Ph.D. Email Jared Jenisch at jared.jenisch@thehowe.org for the Zoom invitation. No registration required in person.
